When using sterile petri dishes, be sure to wipe and sterilize the outer sleeve and then place them in your still air box or under your flow hood. When your sterilized agar has cooled to a safe pouring temperature and is in your sterile work area, remove the sleeve from your petri dish using a sharp knife or scalpel, and carefully remove the plates without removing the covers from the dish. Pour your agar into each plate and replace the cover of the dish. Leave your dishes in front of your flow hood after pouring to help reduce condensation.
