Welcome our newest Sales Representative
September 20, 2024
Please join us in welcoming our newest sales representative, Sue Engle. Sue has joined us to focus on our Redwood Mushroom Supply side of the business. With over 20 years of sales experience, she’s now turning her expertise to the mushroom growing industry.
Sue was born in Decatur, IL and came to California at 5 years old when her parents moved to Fair Oaks. She’s lived here in Santa Rosa since the early 90’s.
Her previous work experience helped her excel at sales and customer service. One of her favorite jobs (before this one!), was a student advisor for the American Gunsmithing Institute out of Napa. For 5 years she supported students from across the United States to excel in their gunsmithing courses. As their numero uno sales rep, she sold over a quarter mil in one month.
As we’ve learned about Sue, not only does she love working with people from all over America, she also loves learning as much as she can about the industry she’s working in. She researched and provided her students with as much information towards passing their courses as possible and ended up with the highest ranked students. You can find her channel on YouTube!
Now she’s bringing her passion here to Redwood Mushroom Supply. Since she started in May, she’s gained an in depth knowledge of mushroom growing. Her focus is working with small to medium sized farms and cultivators. She’s gobbled up as much knowledge she can about all ways of growing mushrooms in every type of medium. Each phone call gets her a deeper understanding of the industry. (And she is making TONS of calls! Perhaps you’ve had the pleasure of speaking with her?)
Sue has expressed numerous times that she doesn’t know the first thing about plants. Now, she has a plant on her desk that is thriving happily and she’s been adventurous enough to start growing mushrooms at home. As we like to say at RMS, “everyone can grow mushrooms!”
Sue is growing her mushrooms in our AC Infinity Tent Kit with lighting and using our newest substrates and grains. She’s also helping our staff mycologist test some of the mushroom strains that we are considering.
This weekend, Sue is embarking on her first road trip to Oregon to attend the Albany Mushroom Festival and meet and greet farmers along her way.
In her spare time, Sue likes to work in the craft of jewelry making – even going as far as having her own brand, Engle Designs, in specialty stores and spas around Sonoma and Napa Counties.
We’re so happy to have her here! Please give Sue a shout out when you see her or reach out to her here in Santa Rosa.
